Guardian Training partners with school districts to create, implement, and train an Active Shooter Preparedness Program. This program contains multiple phases:
1) Guardian conducts a physical audit of every building in the district to assess it's security and to offer suggestions on making the building a harder target.
2) Guardian creates a response plan in conjunction with school officials and available SRO's.
3) Guardian conducts annual or bi-annual training for the district, including role players and small amounts of stress inoculation to ensure the skillsets learned are ingrained and recalled during the stress of an actual active threat.
Teachers and staff are taught various methods of tactical casualty care to ensure multiple adults on site understand and can implement hemorrhage control and prevent children and other adults from bleeding out.
A large number of deaths in active shooter situations occur, not from the gunshot itself, but from bleeding out after a prolonged wait for emergency service personnel to arrive and provide medical care. If school staff can be taught to stop the bleeding, we can severely decrease lives lost.
